OUR MISSION
Rugs are a dirty business. Many are made using toxic forever chemicals disguised as 'easy care finishes' and plastic fibers that will never degrade. These textiles surround us every day as we play with our kids (two and four legged!), entertain our friends, rest with a good book, and simply live in our homes. As women, mothers, and textile industry veterans, it is our mission to clean up the textiles in our lived spaces.
CICIL is a women owned and operated business, committed to making natural, clean, and healthy rugs and textiles for your home and for the environment. When we founded CICIL, we set out explore the textile heritage in our own back yards and to divest from carbon-intensive and sprawling global textile supply chains. We use premium wool fiber sourced directly from farms on the East Coast, US alongside upcycled natural fibers like Jute - no synthetics, ever. From farm to floor, our rugs travel less than a thousand miles and are made at a third generation textile mill in North Carolina. We create heirloom textiles with soul to spark inspiration and self-expression and foster a deeper connection to people and our environment.

WE CREATE HEIRLOOM TEXTILES with SOUL in NORTH CAROLINA
OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
Working with only natural, non-toxic materials, we source as close to the ground as possible. Our East Coast Wool Collection comes directly from small family farms in the North East, US. Our shearer inspects the farms for animal welfare and land management, while shearing and collecting some of the most beautiful, durable, long staple wool grown in the US. As CICIL grows and explores new supply chains, we're committed to using all natural materials, keeping our footprint as small as possible, and making textiles that will stand the test of time. This is our commitment to ourselves, to the environment, to our vendors, and to you.
